WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
- The DCF program is intended for individuals who:
- Have suffered a musculoskeletal injury (back, shoulder, knee, etc.).
- Are struggling to return to work due to physical or psychological barriers.
- Are experiencing chronic pain or a "stagnation" in their recovery.
- Are covered by CNESST, SAAQ, or IVAC (the program is usually fully funded by these organizations upon referral).
OUR INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH
- Because recovery often involves more than just physical healing, our team works together to provide a holistic approach. Your personalized team may include:
- Occupational Therapist: To simulate work tasks and adapt your environment.
- Physiotherapist / Physical Therapy Technologist: To restore mobility and strength.
- Kinesiologist: To develop a personalized exercise and conditioning plan.
- Psychologist: To address the mental and emotional hurdles of returning to work (anxiety, pain management, etc.).

WHAT THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- Functional Assessment: A complete evaluation of your current physical and professional capacities.
- Simulated Work Tasks: Exercises specifically designed to mimic your actual job duties (lifting, carrying, prolonged standing/sitting).
- Global Strengthening: Targeted conditioning to improve endurance and muscle power.
- Pain Management Education: Learning how to move safely and manage symptoms during activity.
- Workplace Adaptation: If necessary, our therapists can evaluate and recommend changes to your workstation.
YOUR GOALS: AUTONOMY AND CONFIDENCE
Beyond physical strength, we work on your ability to self-manage your health:
- INCREASE TOLERANCE for prolonged activities.
- PERFORM SPECIFIC TASKS related to your profession with ease.
- DEVELOP AUTONOMY through concrete tools and strategies to manage your daily symptoms.
- PROOTE SUSTAINABLE PROGRESS and long-term maintenance of your recovery gains.

DO INSURANCE PLANS COVER OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY APPOINTMENTS?
Yes. The majority of private insurance providers cover occupational therapy treatments. They are also fully covered by the CNESST, SAAQ, and IVAC.
